Luis Collazos

This coffee comes from Acevedo, located in the Huila-region in Colombia. Luis is the principle producer of La Bermeo, a 9 hectare family farm. Of the 9 hectares, 6 hectares is allocated to growing coffee, the varieties being Castillo and F6. Luis and his family grow coffee in a traditional, sustainable way. They use the dried pulp from coffee beans as natural fertilizer in addition to commercial fertilizers. In addition to coffee, oranges, peaches, lemons and tangerines are also grown on the same farm.

Luis is a second-generation coffee producer who inherited the farm from his parents around 20 years ago. Him and his wife have been married for 30 years and the eldest of their seven kids, Heimar, has shown interest in continuing the family legacy. Heimar already produces his own high quality coffee. Their overall goal is to continue developing and improving their practices and therefore produce better and higher quality coffee in a sustainable way. The Collazos family hopes all Kahwe customers enjoy their coffees.
