Nyeri Hill Farm is owned and managed by the Catholic Archdiocese of Nyeri.The farm was established in 1904 by the Consolata Missionaries. In 1914, the Consolata fathers introduced coffee, with the first demonstration plot near the present site of the Consolata Mission Hospital Mathari.In 1934, the Consolata Fathers installed a dry and wet mill for processing the coffee. They would then export the coffee to back to Turin, Italy, their birth place. The mill is still functional to date.Coffee is the major farm produce at Hill Farm with a little under 30% of the entire farm being coffee.The main mission of establishing the farm was to generate income to facilitate evangelization, eradicate ignorance, poverty and disease.

Nestled 150 kilometers north of Nairobi City, in the lush basin between the Aberdare Ranges and the giant Mount Kenya, lies a beacon of agricultural excellence with over a century of history – Nyeri Hill Farm located about 3 Km from Nyeri town where the remains of the founders of the Scout and Girl Guide movements Lord Barden Powel and his wife lady Powel are buried.

This expansive farm covers more than 3,000 acres. It hosts one of the best Teaching and Referral Hospitals in the region, several institutions of learning from elementary to tertiary, and implements numerous agribusinesses, mainly Arabica coffee, tea, fodder, and livestock. Nyeri Hill Farm It remains a cornerstone of the local community and a model of sustainable agriculture both locally and abroad.
